We’re pleased to introduce you to some of the members of our Sales team. The Sales team works together to provide health insurance you can count on and the best service to our members and brokers. Their commitment to The Sharp Experience makes a difference across the Health Plan and in the lives of everyone they serve.

Aubrey Hoyle, Senior Account Executive

Aubrey Hoyle, Sr. Account Executive

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am the senior account executive on our Medicare sales team and an internal sales representative for the Health Plan. My primary role is to work with enrollees to educate them about Medicare and assist them with enrolling in one of our Sharp Medicare Advantage plans. In addition, I review and approve sales materials, host Medicare sales seminars, and participate in health care events around San Diego. I have been with Sharp Health Plan since 2016.

What's the best part about being on the team?

Our team works extremely well together, and we all love what we do. We all share the same passion of providing excellent customer service while helping our members understand the complexities of health insurance.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

I enjoy exploring the city, going on new hiking trails, and trying new restaurants around town. I also enjoy going to the beach on Coronado.

Cheryl Cote, Sr. Account Executive

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am responsible for managing relationships with brokers and local businesses to promote and sell our Health Plan. As a trusted advisor, I help clients understand their options and make informed decisions. Once a decision is made, I oversee the onboarding process. I ensure a smooth transition for employees into Sharp Health Plan by providing clear communication, support, and resources to facilitate enrollment. I have been with the Health Plan since May of 2011.

What's the best part about being on the team?

Sharp is an award-winning health system, and I benefit from the credibility and trust Sharp has built. This allows me to do what I enjoy and feel I do best: develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and our local businesses.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

I love jumping on my bicycle and taking a coastal ride on the 101, and I don't care if I head north or south.

Daniel Roth, Sales Executive

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I have been a dedicated member of the Sharp Health Plan team for over 10 years serving as an account manager for both small and large group business as a sales executive. In this role, I work closely with brokers and employers to provide tailor-made solutions and exceptional expertise in the insurance industry.

What's the best part about being on the team?

I have a passion for fostering strong business relationships and find the daily interactions with brokers and members to be the most rewarding aspects of the job.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

Outside of work, I love staying active in and around San Diego. In my free time, I enjoy activities such as golf, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, surfing and playing tennis or padel.

Glen Whitman, Sales Associate

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a Sales Associate. I work directly with current and prospective members, helping them with enrollment and other plan and policy requests. I also provide support for our brokers. Additionally, I serve as a community liaison, fostering and maintaining relationships within our medical groups and community outreach partners. I have been with Sharp Health Plan for almost two years.

What's the best part about being on the team?

My passion is truly based on wanting to help others that are in need whether that is working directly with a member or someone who is assisting them such as a broker or agent. I believe that my fellow team members share the same desire to serve others, and I like working with them to help provide the direction we all need in this ever-changing industry.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

I live in San Diego with my wife and sometimes crazy pug, Penelope. The other joy of my life is my daughter Mia, who is starting nursing school this spring. When not enjoying the incredible meals prepared by my wife (a favorite pastime), you might find me looking for a new hiking trail to explore, riding a bike, walking on the beach, or hitting the golf course.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

My role consists of being an enrollment specialist, helping individuals find the health plan that fits their needs, and most importantly, serving as a resource to help them understand how health insurance plans work. In addition, I also support our broker partners with their inquiries from onboarding to clientele assistance. I recently reached the 5-year milestone at the Health Plan.

What's the best part about being on the team?

The best part of being on the Sales team is educating individuals about health insurance, and being a bilingual team member supporting a diverse community. Above all, I work alongside an amazing and supportive team!

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite thing to do is staying active, whether that's playing or trying new sports with friends and family. I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures when I get the opportunity.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a sales associate supporting all lines of business and support group sales in an operational capacity. I have been with Sharp Health Plan for almost three years.

What's the best part about being on the team?

The best part about being on the Sales team is the people that I work alongside. There is a unique team dynamic of very caring, intelligent, and helpful individuals who come together to help one another and the public we serve. I am so honored and extremely grateful to be a part of this team.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite thing to do is go for long walks and explore different parts of town on foot. I like to explore and meet people wherever I go.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a senior account executive for new business sales and a leader in new business development and growth specializing in large group commercial insurance. I have consultative expertise focused on long-term partnerships and solutions, aimed at controlling cost while increasing membership and revenue at the Health Plan. I've been with the Health Plan for 20 years.

What's the best part about being on the team?

The best parts are working with a team that values culture and integrity, making a difference in people's lives, and having fun!

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite thing to do is anything active (running, hiking, yoga, weights, bike riding). My favorite thing to do is head to the beach around 4 pm, stick a chair in the sand with my husband, friends, and family, and watch the waves and sunset!

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I started as an intern and transitioned into the role of Sales Associate after four months. I provide high-quality customer service to prospective and current members and support the sales cycle by servicing accounts, educating leads, and processing applications. I also manage a high call volume and help new and existing members make changes to their health insurance plans. I have been with Sharp Health Plan for two years.

What's the best part about being on the team?

The best part of being on the Sales team is working alongside a wonderful team of hardworking, caring, and supportive people. I continually learn and grow so much being a member on the sales team.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

My favorite place to go in San Diego is Horseshoe Beach in La Jolla. I love to snorkel and swim there.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

I am a Sales Associate and I assist members with their enrollments, answering any questions they may have and providing them with the documents they need. I also work closely with brokers and communicate with them throughout the entire process. This includes offering insight on our enrollment process, aiding in the contracting process, and answering commission-related inquiries. I started at Sharp as an intern and have been here for a year. I am excited to continue learning and providing members with The Sharp Experience.

What's the best part about being on the team?

The best part about being on the team is the support and encouragement from everyone. We are very close and believe in the strength of teamwork. It's a blessing to work with people who truly want the best for you, the team and the people we serve.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

The best part about San Diego is that you can do just about anything. I love that I am constantly meeting new people, experiencing new foods, and learning about different cultures. Some activities I enjoy are going to the beach, hiking, and exploring the city.

What is your role at the Health Plan?

As a Medicare account executive, I enroll prospective members in our Medicare Advantage programs and I am an internal sales representative for the Health Plan. I also support our health care fairs, seminars and webinars to support our providers, partners and members.

What's the best part about being on the team?

The wonderful continuity of the team. There is comfortability between us, trust, excellent communication and coordination. We all have a love for being of service. We get to turn clients' insurance choice into something clear, simple, and easy to transition into.

What's your favorite thing to do or place to go in San Diego?

In my free time, you can find me at the beach, gardening in my yard, or enjoying the company of friends and family. The Strand and La Jolla Cove are two of my favorite beach destinations, but the tranquil garden setting of my backyard runs a close second.
