Lower ER and hospitalization risk

Flu shots reduced the risk of emergency room visits and hospitalizations by 53% in children 6 months to 17 years old.

If your child is between 6 months to 8 years old and never had a flu shot or only had one dose before July 1:

  • They will need two doses of the flu vaccine.
  • The two doses must be given at least four weeks apart.
