New partnership with Epic Systems

What this new partnership means for you and your employees.

We’re excited to announce that Sharp Health Plan will be going live with Epic Systems, the nation’s leading health care technology company, this fall. Epic’s world class software will help Sharp Health Plan continue to deliver The Sharp Experience to our customers and provide an even better experience for you and your employees.

What this means for you and your employees

You and your employees will be able to create new Sharp Health Plan online accounts. These will replace your old Sharp Connect accounts if you had them set up.

The new online accounts will offer additional self-service functionality, allowing you and your employees to better manage your plans online.

Employer Functionality

  • Manage enrollments — see real-time enrollment statuses and changes.
  • Set communication preferences — including paperless options.
  • Manage permissions — like user provisioning to grant your broker(s) access to your account.
  • Make one-time payments online — for the time being, recurring payments must be made in the Sharp Health Plan payment portal.
  • And much more!

Member Functionality

  • Check benefits, balances and costs
  • See claims and coverage documents
  • Change a primary care physician
  • View or print member ID cards
  • Choose paperless options
  • Update contact information
  • Set communication preferences
  • Share access to an account
  • Access the new mobile app

Ensuring a smooth transition for you and your employees

To ensure the best customer experience, we will be taking a phased approach. We'll focus our outreach first on existing Sharp Connect users, so that we can get them transitioned over to their new online account. This will be followed by outreach to employers and members who did not have a Sharp Connect account set up.

  • Employer outreach

We contacted employers who are active Sharp Connect portal users to let them know about the transition and they received training in September. In November, employers will receive their new account information so that they can activate their accounts and start using the new portal.

  • Member outreach

In November, we will let members who are active Sharp Connect portal users know about this transition, and will share how to activate their new Sharp Health Plan online accounts. Our outreach will include answers to frequently asked questions and direct them to online resources if they have additional questions. If they need technical support, they should contact Customer Care.
