Timely Access to Care Standards

On January 17, 2011, the Department of Managed Health Care’s Timely Access to Non-Emergency Health Care Services Regulation (“Timely Access Regulation”) becomes effective. The Timely Access Regulation requires health care services be provided in a timely manner appropriate for the nature of the member’s condition consistent with good professional practice.  It sets forth certain appointment scheduling timeframes and standards for triage and screening services.

To assist our providers in offering appointments to Sharp Health Plan members within the timeframes required under the Timely Access Regulation, we have provided the Appointment Scheduling Reference Cards below for use in your office.
