Sharp Health Plan recognized by Girl Scouts with 2010 Community Partner Award

Supporting great organizations like the Girl Scouts of San Diego is essential to Sharp Health Plan’s mission to improve the health and well-being of those we serve. Our partnership with the Girl Scouts affirms our commitment to the San Diego community.

The San Diego-Imperial Girl Scout Council is one of the nation’s largest with 30,000 girl members, 11,000 adult members, and 12,000 volunteers. The Girl Scouts provide an accepting environment where girls can develop leadership and life skills, serve their communities, and grow through new and exciting experiences. A full range of camps, events, virtual programs and travel opportunities are offered for girls to experience independently or within a troop.

As a 2010 Community Partner Award winner, Sharp Health Plan works with Girl Scout programs that encourage healthy lifestyles. With a generous grant from Sharp Health Plan, automatic external defibrillators (AED) have been installed at all Girl Scout properties. Sharp Health Plan also supports the Urban Campout, the Girl Scouts’ annual fundraiser, helping to keep Girl Scouting available and affordable for all girls. And Sharp Health Plan is a presenting sponsor of Girl Scouts Run/Walk for a New Day, which raises awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for girls and the adults in their lives.
