SAN DIEGO, October 29, 2015 – Sharp Health Plan announced results of recent major ratings that affirm the regional health plan’s commitment to quality and service, a strategy that also helped propel the organization’s rapid growth—doubling over the past four years from 53,000 members in 2011 to more than 107,000 today.
Sharp Health Plan’s ratings results, which are recognized among the top quality measurement tools by health plans nationwide and regionally, include:
- Highest level “Excellent” Accreditation status from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Sharp Health Plan has received Excellent NCQA status in each of the last three years (2013-2015).
- Highest-rated in California among reporting California Health Plans for Rating of the Health Plan, Rating of Health Care, Rating of Personal Doctor, and Rating of Health Promotion and Education in the Quality Compass/Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey.1
For the third year running, Sharp Health Plan has received 4 out of 4 stars in the Covered California Quality Rating System. Sharp Health Plan is also considered among the top third of health plans in the nation, receiving an overall 4 out of 5 Pt Rating in NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Ratings for 2015-2016. Additionally, Sharp Health Plan was highest rated in Customer Satisfaction in California, having achieved a 4 out of 5 Pt Rating.
