COVID-19 pharmacy updates

New pharmacy information for brokersemployers.


Sharp Health Plan is temporarily relaxing early refill limits on maintenance medications (prescriptions commonly used to treat conditions that are considered chronic or long term) at any in-network pharmacy.

Members can get an early refill of up to a 90-day supply of most maintenance medications. All your member clientsemployees have to do is tell their pharmacist to use the SCC-13 code when processing their order. Standard copayments and deductibles (if applicable) will apply.

Please note these early refill limits exclude controlled substances, such as certain pain medications. A new prescription from a prescriber is required to provide an emergency supply of a controlled substance.

We’re also offering two easy ways for your member clientsemployees to get their medications delivered to them. This includes:

Home delivery

Many pharmacies are offering free home delivery right now. Your member clientsemployees should check with their pharmacy to see what’s being offered.

Mail order

Your member clientsemployees can also sign up for mail order, and get their maintenance medications delivered to them. Standard shipping is always free. Standard co-payments and deductibles (if applicable) will apply.
