We wanted to share some helpful information to ensure a successful open enrollment for you, our valued partners, and your clients.

Sharp Health Plan individual and family plan (IFP) rates

We’re proud to offer some of the lowest IFP rates in San Diego this open enrollment, with select plans reduced up to 15% on Covered California.

Here are some key selling points for our IFP plans.

  • Sharp Health Plan provides affordable access to Sharp HealthCare through Covered California, including Sharp Community Medical Group (SCMG), Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group (SRS) and all Sharp hospitals.
  • Sharp Health Plan has reduced their rates across their Platinum, Gold, and Silver tier plans for 2020, with significant savings on their Silver tier plans both on and off-exchange.
  • Our Sharp Silver 70 HMO Performance Plan will be available off-exchange starting with a Jan. 1, 2020 effective date.
  • Sharp Health Plan’s average rate reduction (-8.3%) was the largest decrease in the region among carriers on Covered California, with select plans reduced up to 15%.

Important dates to remember

Open enrollment for IFP starts Oct. 15, 2019 and runs through Jan. 31, 2020. The following effective dates will apply:

Updates for off-exchange clients

  • Applications can be completed on our website or by fax or mail. Online applications are processed within 48 business hours of receipt; applying online is recommended for quicker processing. Please contact us if you would like a personalized enrollment link for your clients.
  • All off-exchange applicants, including both new members to Sharp Health Plan and existing members applying with a new address, will need to submit proof of residency (POR) documents this year. These POR documents must be submitted within 10 business days of submitting an application. Find out more about the proof of residency requirement.
 

Payments

We must receive your client’s first premium payment in full before the first day of the effective date for coverage to begin. If full payment is not received before then, you will need to submit a new application.
