IFP proof of residency requirement

New guidelines to applications and account changes

January 2, 2019 — We’ve updated our Individual and Family Plans underwriting guidelines to include a proof of residency requirement for new member applications and for account changes that add new members to an existing policy. We will be requiring two forms within 10 calendar days of receiving an application or account change. Our Individual and Family Plans team will review the documents to ensure they meet underwriting guidelines. The change is effective immediately.

We pride ourselves on being San Diego’s own health insurance. While this change is happening in the latter of open enrollment, our team is here to help you succeed. We are prepared to take the lead on contacting your impacted clients to ensure we receive the necessary documentation to fulfill this new requirement.
