Dr. Nora Faine

Since completing her residency in preventive medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Faine has worked to improve the health and well-being of San Diegans, especially the region’s most vulnerable populations. Dr. Faine joined Sharp Health Plan as medical director in 2000 and was named vice president and chief medical officer in 2001.
Dr. Faine has been a member of the Board of Governors of The San Diego Foundation (TSDF) since 2002 and chaired TSDF’s Health & Human Services Working Group for more than three years. She also serves as a member of the Community Health Improvement Partners Health Literacy Taskforce and the Curriculum Development Work Group.
Recognized for her work by numerous community service organizations, Dr. Faine holds a master of public health degree from San Diego State University and a doctor of medicine degree from Meharry Medical College. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Drew Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Center in Los Angeles.
